PECS is an expressive communication system for both children and adults with severe communication impairment.  Although it is used for non-verbal clients,  it can also teach important skills to those whom are able to speak such as building functional communication and social skills via initiation of conversations. PECS is cost effective and can be used easily in the school home and community.
