Dysphagia means difficulty in swallowing.  There are many conditions that may cause difficulty in swallowing food or drinks as a result of congenital (e.g., as a result of structural abnormalities) or acquired conditions and progressive disorders (e.g., strokes, head and neck cancers, Parkinson's disease)
